Product Description

- 1/80 scale 16.5mm gauge plastic model (finished product)
- The powered car is a Kumoha 157 type.

- The 157 series debuted in 1959 as the Deluxe Semi-Express [Nikko].
- It had exceptional facilities for a semi-express train. Later, it was also used on the Tokaido Main Line's limited express "Hibiki," the express "Izu" bound for the Izu area, and the limited express "Amagi," among others.
- Furthermore, the VIP car Kuro 157 was a unique and exceptional train, operated exclusively for the Imperial train, the Emperor's personal train, and trains for foreign dignitaries.

- Following the opening of the Tokaido Shinkansen, the 157 series trains that were withdrawn from express service on the Tokaido Main Line were repurposed for trains bound for the Izu area.
- Due to the need to couple two train sets, jumper connectors were added to the leading cars, resulting in a double-ended crossover structure.
- At the same time, signal flares and other equipment are being installed.
- The express train "Izu" operated with a maximum formation of 15 cars.
