[About the actual vehicle]
- Ventura was introduced in the United States in 1960 from the Pontiac brand of General Motors, an American automobile manufacturer.
- Pontiac's standard full-size car at the time, using the B-body platform with a 122-inch wheelbase, was available in three body types: a 2-door hardtop body, a 4-door sedan, and a 2-door convertible.
- The name Ventura comes from the place name of Ventura, California.
- It was a unique model with deluxe wheel covers, a sports steering wheel, Pontiac leather-like interior materials, and Morrokide seats.
- The first generation was sold from 1960 to 1961, and was later developed as an optional model for the Pontiac Catalina.
- From 1966 to 1969, it was added to the lineup as the Ventura, and then changed to the second generation.
