Product Description
- The Naval Fighter Attack and Tactics Instructor Program (STFI), known as "Top Gun," is a training institute for fighter pilots of the United States Navy that trains fighter pilots to the top through high-level education and rigorous training. It is also famous as the setting for the movies "Top Gun" and its sequel, "Top Gun Maverick."
- This unit is not only equipped with current US Navy flagship aircraft such as the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, but also various other aircraft such as the F-5E/F Tiger II, which act as virtual enemies (aggressors) in combat training. A major feature of this unit is that it is painted in a variety of camouflage patterns that differ from the standard.
- This book is based at Naval Air Station Fallon, where the Air Force has been based since 1996, and features over 200 color photographs of these aircraft, including their camouflage paintwork typical of aggressor aircraft.
