- The Yak-23 is a multi-role fighter jet developed by the Soviet Yakovlev Design Bureau.
- The Yak-23 was developed as a follow-up to the Yak-15 series.
- The aircraft structure was completely changed from the Yak-3 reciprocating fighter that had been used up until the Yak-17, which was almost identical to the Yak-3. Since the engine mounting method was the same, the external appearance looked similar, but in reality it was a completely new aircraft.
- The Yak-23 made its first flight in 1947 and then underwent comparative tests against the Yak-17 and Yak-19 design bureaus.
- Having achieved excellent overall results, the Yak-23 was put forward for adoption by the Air Force as the design bureau's flagship aircraft.
- Unfortunately for the Yak-23, the MiG-15, a high-performance aircraft with an innovative swept-back wing, was successfully developed, so the Yak-23, despite its excellent basic performance, was relegated to the role of "insurance".
- In the end, the MiG-15 was so successful that the insurance was no longer necessary, and production numbers were far fewer than those of the MiG-15.

- There are 1 decal each for the Soviet Union, Czech Republic, and US armies, and 2 for the Polish army.
