Product Description

- HMS Lion is the lead ship of the British Lion-class battlecruisers.
- Commissioned in 1912, Lion took part in the Battle of the Heligoland Bight in August 1914, the Battle of Dogger Bank in January 1915 and the Battle of Jutland in May 1916.
- During the Battle of Dogger Bank, Lion served as the flagship of Admiral David Beatty and managed to score a hit on the German battlecruiser Seydlitz, but was hit by fire from the battlecruiser Derfflinger and was forced to retreat.
- During the Battle of Jutland, a 12-inch shell from the German battlecruiser Lützow hit Lion's Q turret, but the turret's commander, Francis Harvey, ordered the magazine doors to be closed and the magazines to be flooded with water, preventing a secondary explosion.
- After repairs, she took part in the Second Battle of the Heligoland Bight in 1917, and remained moored in the North Sea until the end of the war, when she was decommissioned in 1922.
- Although there were calls to preserve the ship as a memorial, due to the provisions of the Washington Naval Treaty, she was sold and scrapped in 1924.
- Two types will be released at the same time: a full hull type and an offshore model.
- Both kits include resin parts, 3D printed parts, metal barrel, etchings, wires and a Royal Navy flag decal.
- The bridge handrail etched parts are available with or without windproof canvas, and multiple main gun canvas parts are included so you can choose the angle of the main guns.
- In addition, optional parts are included when assembling the model, allowing you to choose between the 1914/1915 appearance or the 1916 appearance.
- Total length will be approximately 305mm when completed.
