Product Description
- Nissan released the 180SX in 1989.
- It was designed as a hatchback coupe, sharing the body structure with the fifth-generation Silvia released the previous year.
- The front mask also gives a significantly different impression from the Silvia. While the Silvia has fixed headlights with six small round lights in a horizontal housing, the 180SX features retractable headlights that pop up from the bottom when the lights are on.
- Since it underwent two minor changes during its production up until 1999, it can be broadly divided into an early model from 1989 to 1991, a mid-model from 1991 to 1996, and a late model from 1996 to 1999.
- Hot Wheels has a set of two cars: a later model 180SX and a Sileighty, which was created using a custom technique that replaced the 180SX's front mask with that of a Silvia.
- Both rears are 180SX, but it's fun to see the difference between the later model with its four round lights and the early/mid-model with its trapezoidal base.
