[About the actual machine]
The EA-18G Growler is an electronic warfare aircraft developed and operated by the United States Navy as a successor to the Grumman EA-6B Prowler.
It was developed based on the US Navy's F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter and began operation in 2009.
There are two crew members.
It seats the pilot and a Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) in the back seat.
Electronic warfare equipment includes the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System (TJS) pod, the AN/ALQ-218(V)2 radio frequency receiving system, and the AN/ALQ-227 communications countermeasures set.
The aircraft is powered by two General Electric F414-GE-400 turbofan engines.
It has a top speed of nearly Mach 1.8.
Armed with these weapons, the Growler will counter enemy SEAD aircraft.
The U.S. Navy's oldest electronic warfare squadron, VAQ-130 Zappers, which originated in 1959 as Carrier Early Warning Squadron 13, or VAW-13, has also been operating the Growler since 2011.

The kit is a 1/48 scale reproduction of the US Navy's current electronic warfare aircraft, the EA-18G Growler.
This is a plastic model assembly kit, with a finished total length of 381mm.
The impressive size and distinctive form are accurately modeled.
The parts are manufactured by Italeri, a long-established Italian manufacturer, and a Japanese instruction manual produced by Platz is included.
This is a kit that Japanese modelers can work on with confidence.
In addition, masking stickers that are convenient for painting the canopy frame are also included as standard.
The large tandem cockpit canopy can be easily painted precisely, enhancing the overall appearance of the finished product.
The interior of the cockpit, the landing gear parts, and the details of the landing gear storage compartment are also sharply modeled.
The markings selected are from VAQ-130 Zappers, which have been operating Growlers since 2011.
It reproduces the appearance of the Zapper Dragon Insignia on the tail, which is a design inherited from its predecessor, the VAW-13.
