This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Macchi MC.202 Folgore, a masterpiece fighter plane deployed and operated by the Italian military during World War II.

[About the actual machine]
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore is said to be one of the masterpieces of fighter aircraft developed by Italy during World War II.
Macchi developed the MC.200 in line with Plan R, which aimed to modernize the Air Force's aircraft before World War II.
Development began on an evolved version of the original, and it made its first flight in August 1940.
The engine was a liquid-cooled inverted V-type engine made by Daimler-Benz of Germany.
The aircraft design has been designed to have a small overall projected area to match the engine shape.
High aerodynamic performance.
It recorded a top speed of 600km/h, surpassing the German Messerschmitt Bf109, which was equipped with the same engine.
In addition, the aircraft's inherent maneuverability, combined with its excellent hit-and-run tactics and dogfighting, produced many ace pilots.
