- Steel Rain is a rotorcraft-type variable-speed Hexa Gear classified as a Generation 2.5 aircraft.

- In pursuit of the crystal furnaces that were the cause of a long-running corporate conflict and the enormous value they produced, people ignored the warnings of the environmental management AI and continued to create HEXA G-R-A-M. As the contamination of the earth inevitably accelerated, MSG, the world's largest military-industrial complex, felt the need to end the conflict as soon as possible and began developing a new concept HEXA GEAR as a way to turn the tide of the war.
- The completed new models are the [Early Model], which is a rotorcraft type whose power source has been replaced with HEXA G-R-A-M, similar to the first generation, and the [Late Model], which has been given a system conversion mechanism to turn it into a humanoid form. Although the two models are very similar in appearance, their characteristics are very different.

- The early model had no major distinguishing features beyond being an aircraft that was already disappearing from around the world at the time, but the wide range of live ammunition options, including two 20mm Gatling cannons as standard, gave it high reliability and ground attack capabilities, and this combined with its ability to attack from the air gave it a huge advantage over the second-generation HEXA GEAR of the time, which were based on vehicles and bipedal walking.
- In addition to this, later models have a BMI and working limbs added to the control system, allowing for extremely quick weapon changes, transport of supplies, and a transformation mechanism that gives them the versatility to even handle ground suppression combat, and are classified as 2.5 generation Hexa Gear.
- However, the production costs of the unit swelled to the equivalent of several Bulkarm Alphas, making it clearly a high-cost unit even when compared to the entire second-generation Hexa Gear.
- In terms of operation, the delicate maintenance of the aircraft and frequent munitions replenishment were obviously beyond the capabilities of the on-board governor, so it goes without saying that the presence of various ground support units with advanced technology was essential.
- Furthermore, to fully utilize its flight performance, a considerable number of HEXA G-RAMs are required just to power the main rotors, which is more than ten times that of other second-generation HEXA GEARs.
- This is the price to pay for the specifications that allow for the air transport of heavy goods and even Hexa Gear, but it is particularly noticeable in the later models, whose weight has increased due to their transformation mechanism. As a result of prioritizing overall cost, some units chose to operate the earlier models instead.
- The effectiveness of deploying Steel Rain units to the front lines was consistently high, and even in later years it was evaluated that the results were well worth the cost. However, continuing to meet this large resource burden was no easy task, even for MSG, which boasted huge capital at the time.
- For these reasons, there is even the joke that this machine was deployed to a tense battlefield, made dramatic advances like a storm, and was then chased out of the base shortly afterwards. However, from the perspective of those who faced it, it is remembered as the Hexa Gear that inflicted the most fear on those who fought against it at the time.

- The `Steel Rain` that appeared in the sky over the battlefield forced silence on all `things` crawling on the ground with a raging storm of bullets.

- The included [Rocket Launcher] uses the HEXA-G-R.A.M. system to connect to the main unit, allowing for free disassembly and expansion. It can be used in combination with attachments to increase flexibility.
- Compatible with the Flying Base Neo (sold separately) for dramatic displays.
