Kumano of the 7th Sentai, 1st Platoon, which played an active role in the Dutch East Indies invasion at the beginning of the Pacific War, is now available with etched parts!

The product is based on the appearance of the Mogami-class fourth ship, Kumano, around 1942, before the lessons learned from war were incorporated.
The decals include markings such as naval ensigns, national flags, and the Japanese flag for carrier-based aircraft.
Includes one A6M Zero (three-seater) floatplane and two A6M Type 95 floatplanes.
*Etchings include ladders, handrails, cranes, search platforms, catapults, board davits, antenna masts, and airplane transport rails.

- The special series is a 1/700 scale offshore model that reproduces above the waterline. This ship model has excellent detail reproduction with detailed parts division and delicate sculpting.

- The sides of the ship have a different hull cross-sectional shape from the Mogami and Mikuma, and special parts are used to give them the appearance they had in the first half of the war, when the portholes had not yet been closed.

- Hull structure
- The side slope at the mid-deck level is a special part with a different angle than the top model.
- The portholes are special parts that are left open as they appeared during the first half of the war.
- The outside electrical wiring is molded as a single unit into the hull, expressing a different equipment position than that of the Mogami/Mikuma.
・The width of the ship near the shelter deck is depicted as 1.0 mm (on the model) wider than that of the Mogami/Mikuma.
- Bridge/Foremast
- The front mast was added as a command post before the outbreak of war, and is a part exclusive to the 1942 model which was not equipped with a radar.
The air defense command post comes with a separate binocular telescope for surveillance, and the floor is precisely recreated with carved grating.
- The bridge windows are made with transparent parts for a more realistic finish.
- Uses bridge structure parts specially designed for the Kumano/Suzuya, which has an air intake for the boiler room next to the bridge.
- Chimney/Air intake/Linoleum deck
- The thin chimney, a characteristic of Suzuya/Kumano, is available as a special part.
- The funnel cap is a molded part in a "removed" state.
- The steam exhaust pipe is designed as a separate part to enhance the sense of precision.
- The boiler room air intake located under the chimney is reproduced with special parts, which have a different shape and size compared to the Mogami/Mikuma models.
- The machine gun turret next to the chimney is made using a part shaped specifically for Kumano/Suzuya.
- The air intake behind the chimney (under the searchlight) uses a part exclusive to Kumano/Suzuya.
- The linoleum deck is prepared as a special part because the placement of ventilation pipes and equipment is different from that of the Mogami/Mikuma.
- High Angle Gun Mount/Aerial Support
・The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun mount is designed exclusively for the Kumano/Suzuya, which has a protrusion on the back of the mount.
The antenna support columns installed on the canopies of the 3rd and 4th main gun turrets are special parts that reproduce the unique shapes of each ship.
- Aft mast/aft bridge/crane
- The rear mast is a Kumano-specific part with a vertical top and a Y-shaped yard, reproducing the differences with the Suzuya.
- It features crane parts that are different from Suzuya, and lighter hole shapes with precise carving.
- The side of the rear bridge reproduces the engine room intake and exhaust vents, which have a different shape than the Mogami's, and special parts are provided for this.
- Shelter deck/aircraft operation deck
The shelter where the torpedo tubes are installed, including the spare torpedo storage area, has been recreated in three dimensions based on official drawings.
- The catapult (Kure Type 2 Model 5) has a realistic side/top design reproduced using a slide mold.
- The engine room intake and exhaust vents, which were not present on the Mogami/Mikuma, are made into parts on the flight work deck to express the difference in form.
- Carrier-based aircraft
・The molding color is gray to improve workability (to prevent damage when cutting the gate).
-One Type 0 (three-seater) floatplane and two Type 95 floatplanes are included.
- Decals included
- Markings such as naval ensigns, national flags, and the Hinomaru flag for aircraft carriers are included.
- The assembly instructions come with a mini commentary that allows you to learn the names of equipment and information about the actual ship while you work. The packaging box comes with a mini box paper craft so that you can store the box after assembly.

- The delicate equipment of the ship, which cannot be expressed by injection parts, is reproduced with etching parts. It is useful for more advanced detailing.
