Product Description
-- A captivating wink design! The timeless Keio 6000 series!
[Actual vehicle introduction]
The Keio 6000 series was the first 20m-class, four-door train that was introduced in 1972.
A key feature of the train is that it has a through-type front and the window on the passenger side is small, allowing it to be used on subways.
The 1972 production model was resistance controlled, but from the 1973 production model this was changed to field chopper control.
Since then, with minor changes to specifications, 304 cars were manufactured by 1991.
The Keibajo Line is a branch line that branches off from Higashi-Fuchu on the Keio Line and connects to the main gate of Fuchu Racecourse, the closest station to Tokyo Racecourse.
Since the line opened, a variety of vehicles have been in operation, but when the line was converted to one-man operation in 1999, two sets of vehicles, 6416F and 6417F, were converted into dedicated vehicles.
On holidays, eight-car formations are used to transport large numbers of passengers, so the above two formations are sometimes used to add to Keio Line express trains.
In addition to the 8-car 6000 series train, it was also sometimes coupled with an 8-car 9000 series train, making it a truly unique train.
The 6416 and 6417F were in service as described above for a long time, but in February 2011 they were replaced by the 7000 series one-man compatible cars and retired.
