The PQ-14 was a radio-controlled target drone required by the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940 for use in training anti-aircraft artillery personnel.
The aircraft can be flown unmanned via radio control, but during the ferry flights a pilot was on board and operated it using the basic control instrument panel that was equipped.
Clear Prop!'s kit realistically reproduces the fine details of the cockpit and engine, and also expresses the details of the rivets and panel lines on the surface with amazing precision.
The kit comes with a choice of open or closed canopy, separate parts for the ailerons and rudder, and five types of decals.
In addition, newly designed 3D printed parts will be used to support the "Tip Tow" project (a plan to transport fighter jets by attaching them to the wingtips of bombers).
This model recreates the PQ-14B used on the C-47 Skytrain (which was fitted to the wingtips of the aircraft during the early stages of the project, later leading to experiments with larger bombers carrying jet fighters).
