Product Description

[About Amtrak Viewliner II]
Viewliner passenger cars are mainly used on routes east of Chicago where the tunnels have low cross sections and double-decker passenger cars cannot enter.
The Viewliner II was manufactured in the 2010s as a successor to the I, and operates mainly on the Northeast Corridor, primarily on the Lake Shore Limited (a train that inherited the route of the old 20th Century Express) between Chicago and New York, as well as long-distance overnight trains in New York State.
Amtrak assigns nicknames to each car, such as sleeping cars and dining cars, used on long-distance trains, and these are displayed in the lower center of the car body.
The Viewliner II being commercialized this time is unique in that it is nicknamed after rivers and cities in the eastern United States.
Sleeper car #62501 is named after the Potomac River, #62518 is named after the Susquehanna River, while Diner car #68012 is named after Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania, and #69009 is named after Nashville, the capital of Tennessee.
