The fact that the Daimler Group has only published bullet-point data on its website regarding the prototype built in 1938 speaks to the scarcity of the information that has been preserved to this day.
Specifically, this was the W147, called the "400 V model."
All six cars produced are believed to have been manufactured in 1938, but it is unclear whether all of them were drivable.
Photos of the sedan taken at the factory give the impression of a large vehicle, like a scale model.
This definitely indicates that the car had a long wheelbase - Mercedes-Benz has stated that it was 3,300mm.
It is also certain that this car was intended to be classified in the so-called premium class category.

With a theoretical top speed of 130 km/h, it would have been ideal for the prestige projects of the time, the Autobahn.
However, the lack of aerodynamic elements in the design suggests that the car was designed with Mercedes' more conservative customer base in mind.
It is believed that the 400 V was planned to be released alongside the other two variants.
