As the workhorse of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, this small general-purpose vehicle can perform a wide range of missions, from transporting personnel and equipment and sending messages to reconnaissance and scouting.
Procurement began in 1996 as a replacement for the outdated Type 73 light truck, and it is still in operation today under the name 1/2 ton truck.
It is an automatic vehicle equipped with air conditioning and a car radio, and although it is part of the Self-Defense Forces, it is similar to a civilian car.

This product reproduces the so-called `mid-term model` procured in the 2000s.
It features fog lights embedded in the bumper and air intakes on the hood.
