[About the actual machine]
The T-2 is an advanced training aircraft that has trained many elite pilots for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, which protects the skies of Japan.
It was the first supersonic aircraft developed independently in Japan.
It first flew in 1971, entered service in 1974, and remained in active service until 2006.
The aircraft was powered by two Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries TF40-IHI-801A turbofan engines, giving it a maximum speed of Mach 1.6.
They were divided into an early model that was used for training in the basic combat piloting course and had no armaments, and a later model that was used for training in the subsequent combat piloting course, with the later model being equipped with machine guns and other weapons.
Once operational, the T-2 was used to train elite pilots who protect Japan's skies.
It is said that 1,450 pilots were trained on the T-2 before it was retired.
It is a masterpiece that has trained many pilots.

[About the model]
This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that recreates the Air Self-Defense Force's T-2 advanced trainer aircraft.
This kit includes four selected markings for specially painted aircraft that have been shown at air shows held at various bases.
・This is a fun kit that you can choose and finish.
-The aircraft is modeled after the later model equipped with a Vulcan cannon.
- Each part of the aircraft is reproduced in detail, right down to the panel lines, and the sharp shape of the aircraft, which boasted a Mach 1.6 speed, is realistically reproduced. Of course, it's not just the exterior of the aircraft that is reproduced.
- Even the finest details, such as the interior of the two-seater cockpit and the landing gear parts, have been meticulously modeled to enhance the realism of the finished product.
Featured markings include the specially painted aircraft produced by the 22nd Squadron in 1998 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the unit's founding, the 22nd Squadron's specially painted aircraft unveiled at the Matsushima Air Base Air Show in 1997, the Gifu Flight Development and Experimental Group's exhibition aircraft unveiled at the Komaki Air Base Air Show in 1994, and the markings of the 8th Squadron of the 3rd Air Wing at Misawa in 1987.
