The Unyo was originally completed as a passenger ship, the Yawata Maru, for Nippon Yusen Kaisha, but was requisitioned and converted into a merchant ship and commissioned as a special aircraft carrier.
Although it did not perform particularly well in naval battles, it was a ship that supported the front lines, transporting troops and aircraft in Rabaul, Truk, and Southeast Asia.
This kit is a 1/700 scale plastic model kit of the aircraft carrier [Unyo].
The parts are simple and easy to assemble, with only the essential features, allowing for accurate reproduction.
Newly designed equipment has been added, including a triple 25mm machine gun.
It effectively expresses the precision and intricacy of the 1/700 scale.
