Product Description
Introducing the new 1/72 A2D-1 Skyshark from Ukraine's Clear Prop!
The kit realistically reproduces the fine details of the cockpit, landing gear, intakes and exhaust pipes, and the main wings can be assembled either unfolded or folded.
The kit we are introducing this time uses newly molded canopy parts (one each for open and closed positions) to recreate the production A2D-1 in three dimensions.
The kit comes with etched parts and four types of decals.
When completed, the total length will be approximately 175mm and the total width will be approximately 212mm.
The A2D Skyshark is a turboprop carrier-based attack aircraft developed by Douglas for the U.S. Navy.
The prototype XA2D, which first flew in 1950, used parts such as the tail from the A-1 Skyraider, but the fuselage and wings were redesigned due to engine replacement and other changes.
The aircraft was recognized as having significantly improved performance compared to the A-1, and over 300 were ordered, but the Navy canceled the order in 1952 due to poor engine reliability caused by its complex structure, and the aircraft never entered service.
The number of aircraft produced is two prototype XA2D-1s and ten production A2D-1s.
