Introducing the completely new 1/72 scale Culver PQ-14A/B from Ukraine's Clear Prop!
The PQ-14 was a radio-controlled target drone required by the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940 for use in training anti-aircraft artillery personnel.
The aircraft can be flown unmanned via radio control, but during ferry flights a pilot was on board and operated it using the basic control instrument panel provided.
The Clear Prop! kit realistically reproduces the fine details of the cockpit and engine, and the surface rivets and panel lines are also beautifully and delicately rendered.
The kit includes a canopy that can be displayed in either open or closed position, separate ailerons and rudders, and four decals (PQ-14A x 1, PQ-14B x 3).
Kit parts were also used for the Tip-Tow project (a plan to transport fighter planes by attaching them to the wingtips of bombers).
This model recreates the PQ-14B used on the C-47 Skytrain (which was used in the early stages of the project to carry PQ-14Bs attached to the wingtips of the aircraft, later leading to experiments with larger bombers carrying jet fighters).
