Introducing a 1/8 scale Marilyn Monroe plastic model kit.
This time, we have recreated a scene from the camp show tour held by the United States Entertainment Organization (USO) in February 1954.
As she descended the ramp of a C-54 transport plane, she was strikingly dressed in military attire that matched the U.S. military base she was visiting, unlike the glamorous outfits we see on screen.
I think the American soldiers on the ground must have felt a sense of cuteness and familiarity when they saw them.
The clothing worn by the men, such as nylon B-15C flight jackets draped over their shoulders and wool shirts, suggests that it was bitterly cold in February when we visited.
The pants have additional buttons that allow for tightening the waist, making for a stunning look that accentuates a feminine silhouette even while wearing military wear.
The model kit not only recreates Marilyn Monroe's proportions and lively expression, but also the different surface textures, wrinkles, and sagging of her clothing, depending on the material.
