[Product overview]
The 101 series was a pioneer of new performance national railway cars, with a prototype built in 1957 and mass-produced from the following year.
Equipped with a more refined body than the 72 series 920 series, cardan-driven DT21 bogies, and MM units, this train was originally called the Moha 90 series, but was renamed the 101 series in a designation change in 1959.
It debuted in orange on the Chuo Line rapid service and was subsequently introduced to commuter lines in Tokyo and Osaka.
Some 800 series cars had a low-roof pantograph section for use on the Chuo-Tohoku Line.
Additionally, some vehicles were later retrofitted with air conditioning.

By selecting the front and end panels and cutting and joining the roof, you can create various 101 series models such as Kumoha and Saha.
By combining No. 432N and No. 432N-1, you can create a 2- to 10-car formation depending on the line.
