Product Description
The launcher and pylons of the F-8 Crusader were recreated using 3D modeling and 3D printing.
[AAM-9 Launcher Adapter]
The LAU-7A is a launcher primarily used by the U.S. Navy to carry AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.
We have reproduced fine details such as the rails, the cover that houses the umbilical cable, and the blast shield at the rear end.
The shape of the pegs has been adjusted so that it can be used with the Academy 1/72 F-8E/J without any modifications.
When attaching the LAU-7A to the side of the F-8's fuselage, an adapter is used that allows for single or Y-shaped double mounting.
A single adapter is also included.
[Wing Pylon]
These are pylons used to mount weapons under the wings of the F-8, specifically at Stations 1 and 4.
It can accommodate one Mk.84 or AGM-12B, two Mk.83s via a triple ejector rack, and four Mk.81/82s via a multi-ejector rack.
Since the introduction of the F-4, the F-8 has primarily been used for ground attack missions, so it's fairly common to see it loaded with bombs.
To create a sense of detail even without weapons mounted, we've also modeled the ejectors inside the pylons.
Additionally, we have prepared separate parts for using the multi-ejector rack components included in the kit.
