Product Description
I precisely recreated the parts needed to convert the Tamiya F-14D into an F-14B using 3D modeling and 3D printing.
The parts of the aircraft that required modification have been reshaped so that they can be attached without any modification to the kit.
Compared to the D-type, the instrument panel has fewer MFDs (Multi-Function Display) units in both the front and rear seats, and the layout of the instruments is different.
The ejection seat was the same GRU-7A as in the A model.
The HUD has changed from the A-type to a format with a combiner, but the shape of the combiner is different from that of the D-type.
I recreated it using clear resin.
It appears that the B model primarily used chin pods equipped with the AN/AXX-1 TCS.
When the TCS camera was not installed, a bullet-shaped fairing was fitted.
In the A/B models, an AN/ALQ-126 DECM antenna is mounted on the underside of the globe.
It comes as a set of two: high frequency and low frequency.
The wheel shape is also different from the D-type.
The tires, which replicate deformation under their own weight, are separate parts, making them easier to paint.
Material: Light-curing resin
*The AN/AXX-1 camera lens comes with a clear UV resin part.
*The photo shows the molded color of the prototype.
