[About the actual device]
The F-35A Lightning II is the aircraft that the Japan Air Self-Defense Force has begun deploying as a successor to the F-4 and F-15 fighter jets.
This is a fifth-generation multirole fighter jet developed through international collaboration, primarily led by Lockheed Martin of the United States.
This single aircraft was designed to handle a variety of missions not only within the Air Force, but also within the Navy and Marine Corps.
While the basics are standardized, the specifications differ depending on the operational method.
Among them, the F-35A, a conventional takeoff and landing variant, was developed specifically for the Air Force.
The engine was a single Pratt & Whitney F135 turbofan engine.
The aircraft, with its highly stealthy shape, is equipped with weapon bays, allowing missiles and other weapons to be stored inside.
In addition, there are six hardpoints installed under the wings.
It entered service in 2016, and was deployed and put into operation by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 2018, where it plays an active role as the latest main fighter jet.

[About the model]
This is a 1/72 scale plastic model kit that reproduces the F-35A Lightning II, which has been newly deployed and put into operation by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The kit uses parts manufactured by Italeri of Italy.
This kit includes masking stickers that are convenient for painting the canpy, the EOTS cover frame on the underside of the nose, and the tires and wheels.
The great thing about using masking stickers is that you can achieve a sharp, defined paint job by only applying them to the most noticeable areas.
The masking stickers are pre-die-cut, making them easy to use—simply peel them off the backing and stick them onto the parts.
The model features markings from a commemorative painted aircraft produced in September 2024 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 302nd Squadron's founding.
Don't miss the large illustration of a white-tailed eagle painted on the vertical stabilizer.
The lettering on the main landing gear covers and the markings on the sides of the air intakes are also faithfully reproduced.
The engine is also assembled inside the fuselage using only a few parts.
The weapon bay panels mounted on the underside of the aircraft can be assembled in either the open or closed position.
The inside of the weapon bay is also realistically modeled.
