The HL-10 was a lifting-body aircraft based on research conducted at NASA's Ames Research Center and Langley Research Center. Manufactured by Northrop, it made its first flight in 1966.
[HL] stands for horizontal landing, and [10] refers to the tenth design studied by engineers at Langley Research Center.
Equipped with a powerful rocket engine and an all-metal airframe, the HL-10 made 37 flights during the research program, setting records for top speed (Mach 1.86) and fastest altitude (27,440m) in the lifting body program.
The kit includes photo-etched parts, a 3D-printed injection seat, painting mask stickers, and one type of decal.
