Product Description
- Masterpiece 16 Series 1/80 16.5mm Gauge Metal Kit
[About the prototype]
This commuter train debuted in 1975 and is the main train on the Tenjin-Omuta Line, also used as an express train.
The basic configuration is a fixed set of 3 or 4 cars, but it is operated in combination with 6 or 7 cars.
There may be differences in equipment and the number of pantographs installed depending on the year of manufacture.
For the first product line, we used prototypes from the first to the fifth production batch (numbers ending in 01 to 19).
As the second release, we will be producing a model of the 6th series and later, which features a static inverter power supply instead of a motor-generator (MG), and two pantographs.
[Kit Overview]
The front is made of lost-wax casting, and the body is made of etched metal.
The design is sharply rendered using a combination of brass and nickel silver etching materials.
The rooftop air conditioner, driver's cab, underfloor equipment, etc., are all made of lost-wax cast parts and white metal and are included in the kit.
Power-related components are not included in the kit.
The kit does not include a bogie frame. The Nikko DT-32 is a similar bogie.
Pantographs, couplers, etc., will be specified by other manufacturers' products.
The PT48 pantograph is suitable.
