Product Description

Admiral Scheer was laid down on June 25, 1931, as the second ship of the Deutschland-class armored cruisers.
The ship is named after Reinhard Scheer, who served as commander of the German High Seas Fleet during World War I.
Commissioned on November 12, 1934, it was deployed to Spain from 1936 to 1938 during the Spanish Civil War, primarily to evacuate Germans residing in the country.
In 1940, the Admiral Scheer underwent refitting and was reclassified as a heavy cruiser.
From November of the same year until April 1941, it mainly engaged in commerce raiding operations in the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans, sinking and capturing the British auxiliary cruiser HMS Jervis Bay and 16 merchant ships, achieving significant results.
From September 1941, she belonged to the Baltic Fleet, and in February 1942, she advanced to Norway with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen and five destroyers.
On August 16 of the same year, it participated in Operation Wunderland, where it sank the Soviet icebreaker Sibilyakov.
After the operation, the Admiral Scheer returned to Germany and was used as a training ship until the end of 1944, but returned to the front lines in February 1945.
I provided support for ground operations.
However, due to severe wear on the gun barrels, the ship headed to Kiel in March of the same year for repairs.
Although they were hindered by minefields along the way, they eventually reached Kiel. However, on April 9th, Kiel was bombed by more than 300 British aircraft, and the Admiral Scheer capsized in this attack, remaining in that position until the end of the war.
