While the Mini-Z is known for its high performance and the appealing, high-quality injection-molded bodies that exude a sense of scale, the Mini-Z 4x4's greatest feature is its detailed, decoration-focused design that surpasses conventional Mini-Z bodies. The body is also intentionally made thicker to enhance crash resistance. Meanwhile, the 4WD chassis, which uses a ladder frame similar to that of a real car, boasts a long stroke and incorporates an upper A-arm and 3-link rigid axle suspension, and is equipped with a high-torque Mini-Z 4x4-specific steering servo. It has the ability to easily clear not only normal driving conditions but also rough terrain with obstacles reminiscent of a rock crawling field. The dedicated 130 motor, which has excellent torque characteristics in the low to medium speed range, further enhances the Mini-Z 4x4's driving performance. - It employs a full-fledged solid axle linkage, just like the 1/10 scale model, ensuring the necessary driving performance and wheel travel for a crawler model.
- It employs a specially tuned high-torque 130 motor. In addition, the main gear unit is equipped with a slipper clutch that relieves torque when high load is applied, protecting the drive system.
- Equipped with a high-torque servo specifically designed for crawler models, it can handle serious crawling. In addition, the steering linkage has been optimized to achieve the largest steering angle in Mini-Z history.
- Full bearing specification with a total of 18 ball bearings. Metal gears are used in load-bearing parts for superior durability.
- The [KT-531P] transmitter employs the FHSS 2.4GHz system, and the steering wheel uses sponge material to improve operability.

- An optional light set (MZW429R) can be mounted on the top of the circuit board. The lights illuminate in response to throttle operation, and the headlight illumination interval can be adjusted from steady on to flashing using the transmitter's trim control.
- Compatible with separately sold gyro unit; manual adjustment via volume control is possible, similar to the RWD/AWD series.
