Product Description

The USS Atlanta is the lead ship of the Atlanta-class light cruisers in the United States Navy.
The ship is named after Atlanta, Georgia, and it is the third ship to bear that name.
Although this class was initially intended to be a lead ship, it was actually used as an anti-aircraft cruiser.
This ship was laid down in Kearney, New Jersey in 1940, launched in 1941, and commissioned in December of the same year.
After participating in anti-aircraft combat during the Battle of Midway in 1942, he took part in the Second and Third Battles of the Solomon Islands that same year.
During the Third Battle of the Solomon Islands, the ship bravely fought back despite being hit by shells and torpedoes, and was towed to Cape Lunga by the minesweeper Bobolink when it was adrift in a state where it could barely be maneuvered.
When the South Pacific Force commander issued the order for Atlanta to scuttle itself, the ship was scuttled that same day.
Atlanta received five battle stars for her service in World War II, and a Distinguished Unit Medal for her heroic and unwavering fighting spirit during the Battle of Guadalcanal.
The kit is a full-hull model, and the standard version includes decals, photo-etched parts, metal chains, and 3D-printed parts.

The DX version includes the contents of the standard version plus three additional etched parts, brass parts, and resin parts.

[Improvements from the old kit]

- Addition of welding lines to the forward deck
- Modification of the shape of the 127mm twin turret
- Added many 3D printed parts
- The 36-inch searchlight is realistically reproduced by combining 3D printed parts and clear parts.
