School excursion

All of sudden, let me talk about trains used for school excursion. When I was a senior highschool student, our school used 100 Series Shinkansen for outward. For homeward, 300 Series Shinkansen was used.

In olden times when Shinkansen transportation system was'n not well arranged, special trains desinged for group tour existed.

JNR Series 155 School Excursions Train `Hinode` (8-Car Set)

Series 155 was the first train desinged for group tour and they were named Hinode(Sunrise), Kibou(Hope), and e.t.c. Actually the coloring of the item on the right-hand side is correct. Light scarlet color and lemon yellow were used to make young students feel cheerful.

For your information, Kiha 58 is not an electric car but a railway motor car, and train running for Tokyo from Tohoku area (nothern part of Japan) is named Omoide (memory) and train running for Kansai area (area around Osaka) from Kyushu (Southern part of Japan).

Last year, two of Kiha 58 cars belonging to JR East and running in Kogota area were colored like School Excursion car and ran for East Rikuu Line as `Omoide-Yukemuri.` You must have remembered the big news if you are a railway fan.
