Tokyo Toden Type 1000

Tokyo Toden Type 1000
Tokyo Toden Type 1000
The nostalgic Toden Type 7000 before the renewal.
Apparently this item hadn't been re-released since Feb. 2000.

By the way, the actual Type 7000 currently running have been switched with a newer body when changed to One-Man Operation car on lines such as the Arakawa Line etc, so they really differ in appearance.

Kawai

I was thinking that there weren't anything particularly new at the Kawai display booth, until I noticed oddly positioned items quietly displayed to the side labeled Sample Products.

Sample Products
- Classic Passenger Car Type A
- Classic Passenger Car Type B
Classic passenger car

Unexpectedly, they were old passenger cars.
The prices and release dates are apparently still undecided.

Having a name like "Classic Passenger Car", I guess the time setting for this train would be around the Meiji era.

Classic Passenger Car close up
The yellow car is apparently the "Cultivation Car".
The National Railways in Hokkaido possessed these in the late 1800s, and was used by the highly ranked political figures back then, so you could think of it as a VIP passenger car.
Apparently the actual train is preserved in the Saitama Railway Museum.
Now this is something worth checking out, don't you think?

Classic Passenger Car
Many of the trains that are called "Classic Passenger Cars" from the Meiji era have appearance that really doesn't suite the Japanese railway train. And that is simply due to the fact that, back in those days, the trains were generally imported from Europe or America etc.
This passenger car seems to be created by an American company, imported by the Japanese government. So its all pretty natural, if you consider this piece of history.

Right, with some mysteries starting to pop up, I think we will end the 32nd Annual Railway Model Show 2010 report [Spoiler] here.

For a detailed report on each of the booths, I plan to have them up later.
The Matsuya Railway Model Show is open until the 26th of July, so have a visit if you can! (*note that the site is in Japanese)
