Product Description
[ Information ]
The Series M250, named "Super-Railcargo," made its debut in March, 2004, on Takaido Main, a logistic artery in Japan. As the first multi-motored container express train for JR Freight, the Series M250 makes its daily round-trip between Tokyo and Osaka in only 6 hours and 10 minutes for one way. The train hauls 28 pieces of 31-foot container U54A in a paint scheme dedicated to Sagawa Kyubin, a major parcel forwarder in Japan, in a 12-car configuration.
It is equally important to note the Series M250 was developed with the idea of decreasing the amount of CO2 in the air from high-speed cargo transport. It is expected to decrease some 14,000 metric tons of CO2 in the air annually.
