――The new 20 series, which appeared in 1990, is a vehicle that has undergone a major model change from the conventional 20 series in order to meet the increasingly sophisticated and diversified needs of passengers. It is the main vehicle of the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau. It is a stainless steel unpainted car with a 1,435mm gauge 750V third rail collection system featuring a novel body design and upgraded in-car equipment.
――The Midosuji Line runs from Esaka in Suita City to Nakahyakutobori in Sakai City via major areas in Osaka City such as Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Yodoyabashi, Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Tennoji. Mutual direct operation is carried out with the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway that connects Esaka and Senri Chuo. By the end of 1996, 10 cars of all trains were completed. Currently, 180 cars of 21 series for Midosuji Line are enrolled.
――The Tanimachi Line is a line from Dainichi in Moriguchi City to Yaominami in the southwestern part of Yao City. It is the longest line that exceeds the Midosuji Line at the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau. Currently, 120 cars of 22 series for the Tanimachi line are enrolled.
――The OTS system is owned by the third sector company [Osaka Port Transport System (OTS)], which is funded by the city of Osaka, which manages the railway business, truck terminals and other distribution facilities. With the opening of the Technoport Line in December 1997, two 6-car trains were manufactured. Basically, it is a vehicle that conforms to the new 20 series of the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau, and features coloring based on the corporate color Morning Blue.
