Product Description
- Turnouts (points) are the most basic yet interesting item in railroad modeling.
KATO Unitrack Electric Turnout, with a direct current turnout mechanism built inside the track bed, offers realism and freedom of layout design.
Wide angled #6 is recommended for the main line, while narrow angled #4 is recommended for sidings and yards. This product offers a wide range of options for you track plans. To operate the turnouts electronically, you would need the Unitrack Turnout Control Switch and Unitrack Turnout Extension Cord that are available separately.
KATO Unitrack, often praised as the best N scale track system with track bed, now has an Electric Turnout #2, Y.
The size is in line with Electric Turnout #4: 124 mm in length and R481 mm in the length of the radius of the curve. Imagine it as the right and left of Electric Turnout #4 combined into one to form a Y-shape. You can also use Curved Track R481-15 to extend the two branches into a 66 mm spaced N-scale double track, which can accommodate Island Platforms such as KATO 20-806 or 23-120.
Y-shaped Turnouts might remind you of interchange points in local lines, but it can serve a much wider array of applications. By combining it with Unitrack [V15] Double-Track Set for Station (Variation #15), the application is limitless, such as creating return lines within the double track at local stations. Right and Left Electric Turnout #4 would further expand the application.
This product is in line with existing single-track Unitracks in regards to basic specs such as the track length and appearance, so it can used in conjunction with existing Unitrack rail parts such as single-track rails and turnouts.
