-The SU-76i is a self-propelled artillery using the bodies of the III and III assault guns that were captured in large quantities in the 1942 battle.
-The battlefield was newly built and the same 76.2 mm F-34 as the T-34 was mounted on the main gun.
-The defense power and habitability were higher than SU-76 using T-60 car body, and the reputation from the crew was good.
-About 200 cars were made from 1943 and operated until the end of the war.

-For this SU-76i unit command, about 20 cars were made as a command tank with the addition of the cupola of III tank.
-The cupola was mounted with an overhang on the side.
