--A German-made automatic rifle with a 7.62 mm diameter that was officially adopted by the former West German army in 1959. It has a mechanism that is rare for an assault rifle that uses the firing recoil to load the next bullet, and is said to have higher accuracy than a standard rifle that uses the firing gas to load the next bullet.

--The G3 was highly evaluated during the Cold War, and has been adopted by 48 countries around the world, including NATO member countries.
――It was licensed and produced in 14 countries and became so popular that it was called one of the [four major assault rifles].
-As a derivative type, there are various models such as A4 type of metal telescopic stock and SG-1 type which is a sniper rifle of an individual with high accuracy.
