── Japan's first two-story Shinkansen with the nickname of Max

[Actual vehicle guide]
- The E1 Series Shinkansen was introduced in 1994 and is Japan's first all-car double-decker Shinkansen vehicle nicknamed Max.
-From November 2003, the painting has changed significantly from the conventional paint, and it is dressed in white and dark blue similar to the E2 series, and a pink belt with the image of a crested ibis is arranged on the coloring line.
-Even after the paint change, it was active on the Joetsu Shinkansen for a long time, but operation ended in October 2012.
