- The Air Self-Defense Force's aggressor (virtual enemy) unit was established in 1981.
- Until 2014, it was called the Flight Training Squadron, but since then it has been called the Flight Training Group.
- Their main mission is to conduct aerial combat training with each fighter unit, and they are known as an elite unit equipped with dedicated aircraft and experienced pilots.
