──A two-car set ideal for additional formations

- Tokyu 7000 series was launched in 1962 as Japan's first all-stainless steel train.
- It was mainly used for operations running from the Tokyu Toyoko Line to the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (now Tokyo Metro) Hibiya Line, but was also used on the Toyoko Line Express, the Den-en-toshi (Oimachi) Line, and the Kodomo-no-Kuni Line.
- Some of the cars were also modified as the 7700 series for the Tokyu Tamagawa Line and Ikegami Line between 1987 and 1991, with modifications such as the addition of air conditioning, VVVF control, and replacement of bogies, and were in service until November 2018.
- Some of the retired vehicles were transferred to Konan Railway, Hokuriku Railway, Mizuma Railway, Fukushima Transportation, and Chichibu Railway.
