Product Description
──The latest Reiwa model! The 205 series running on the Nara Line
[Actual vehicle introduction]
- The 205 series 1000-type introduced on the Hanwa Line in 1988 was a group that featured many improvements based on the 205 series 0-type for the Tokaido Local Line, including changes to the front window arrangement, larger passenger door windows, the elimination of the main motor ventilation vents on the sides of the intermediate motor cars, the installation of external speakers on the fascia board, a change in the number of rooftop ventilators, an increase in the maximum speed to 110 km/h, and the conversion of the auxiliary power unit to SIV. 20 cars were manufactured in five 4-car formations.
- In 1996, JR West began work on improving the 103 series trains, to replace worn-out sections of the trains to make them like new.
- Work on the 205 series also began in 2012, with all 1000 series cars being installed.
- Since their introduction, they have been in service on the Hanwa Line for a long time, but with the introduction of the 225 Series, all cars have been transferred to the Nara Line since 2017, and continue to be in service with their sky blue livery.
- Other recent changes include larger skirts and replacement of SIV in Moha 204, and from the time of regular inspection in 2024, trains will be introduced in which all underfloor equipment, bogies, etc. have been changed to gray.
