Product Description
- Group B was the top category of competition vehicles newly introduced in the 1982 WRC (World Rally Championship).
- As long as 100 cars were produced within a consecutive 12-month period, even cars that were far removed from general production vehicles could gain homologation status, which meant that dangerously high-powered, high-speed machines could compete.
- In fact, there were fatal accidents involving not only drivers but also spectators, so Group B rallies in the WRC came to an end in 1986.
- The MG Metro 6R4 is a four-wheel drive version of British Rover's front-wheel drive Metro car, equipped with a 3-liter V6 engine producing around 400 horsepower in the center of the body.
- The 6 in the car's name stood for six-cylinder engine, the R for rally, and the 4 for four-wheel drive.
