The HB-E300 series [Resort Shirakami] (Beech formation) is equipped with large windows, an observation space, and an event space, just like the previously introduced [Aoike formation], and is used as a tourist train on the Gono Line. It was introduced in 2016, and unlike previous vehicles of the same type, it has LED headlights and two HID lights.
