This new train, the first new general-purpose train in 24 years for Kintetsu Railway, began operation in October 2024.
The exterior features a distinctive octagonal shape, giving the impression of a train that has changed for a new era, while also inheriting the traditions of Kintetsu Railway.
The train features L/C seats that can be switched between long seats and cross seats depending on usage, and each car has two designated spaces for strollers and large luggage.
Door opening and closing switches have also been installed to maintain the temperature inside the vehicle during long stops in summer and winter.
In fiscal year 2024, 48 cars were introduced to the Nara Line, Kyoto Line, Kashihara Line, and Tenri Line, and further additions are planned.
