This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces in 1/144 scale the C-1, a transport aircraft deployed and operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

[About the actual machine]
The C-1 is a domestically produced medium-sized transport aircraft that began deployment of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1973.
Developed by the Defense Agency's Technical Research and Development Institute and Nippon Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd., it made its first flight in November 1970 and began operation in 1973.
The aircraft is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engines. The rear door under the tail can be opened to accommodate supplies and crew.
It can carry 45 fully equipped paratroopers or 60 regular personnel, plus 36 patients if stretchers are attached via metal rods installed in the cargo floor.
In addition, vehicles and artillery could be loaded efficiently in a short time on pallets, and the rear doors could be opened and closed during flight, allowing for airdrops. The payload was 8 tons.
Additionally, the combination of leading edge slats and four-stage gap Fowler flaps provides high STOL (short take-off and landing) performance with a runway distance of approximately 600m required for take-off.
It continued to serve in various missions within Japan.

[About the model]
The model is a 1/144 scale assembly kit of the C-1, a transport aircraft deployed and operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
This kit models the last of the C-1 transport aircraft prototype No. 2, which will be retired in 2024, and features a commemorative paint job.
The special paint job, based on a phoenix motif, which represents the desire to "fly forever", is faithfully reproduced with Cartograf decals.
Of course, the aircraft itself has a high-wing T-tail and is realistically modeled with a total length of approximately 200mm.
This is a multi-material kit with resin parts for the fuselage and wings, and metal and etched parts for the fine details such as the legs.
