[Actual vehicle introduction]
The Matsumoto Electric Railway (now the Alpico Kotsu Kamikochi Line), which runs between Matsumoto and Shinshima, previously operated the 5000 series (formerly the Tokyu 5000 series). However, due to aging, the company took over from Keio Corporation the 3000 series and began operating them as the 3000 series in 1999.
Since the base car was an intermediate car, it was converted into a leading car, and in addition to adding defrosting pantographs to some of the trains, the interior decorative panels and seats were updated, and the car was changed to the beautiful five-color stripe ``Highland color.''
In 2017, with the aim of revitalizing the area along the line, Moha 3003 and Kuha 3004 were repainted in vermilion and gray, reminiscent of the former Moha 10 series.
They continued to be in service even after the introduction of their successors, the 20100 series (formerly the Tobu 20000 series), but were removed from regular service on March 9, 2025.
This product is based on the era before the change to the revival color, and vividly reproduces the five-color stripes.
