──Kiha 54 type belonging to Asahikawa Depot, which continues to operate on the Soya Main Line, Rumoi Main Line, Hakodate Main Line, and Nemuro Main Line, with LED headlights

The Kiha 54-500 series used by JR Hokkaido is a 21m-class double-cab general-purpose diesel railcar designed for extremely cold regions.
Equipment renewal work was carried out between 2003 and 2005, and a major external change is that the bogies have been replaced from the previous DT22 to the bolsterless N-DT54 bogies.
In addition to the equipment renewal work, the front typhoon has been removed to make way for the installation of a deer whistle.
Around 2021, the headlights of some vehicles will be converted to LED on a trial basis, and from 2023, all vehicles will be gradually converted to LED.

The prototype is a Kiha 54 series 500-series vehicle with LED headlights belonging to Asahikawa Depot.
As a vestige of express service, the 527 to 529 cars, which feature a red stripe on the upper side of the car, are available as selectable car numbers.

The front vehicle number (white) is a choice of stickers, while the front vehicle numbers (black) of 519, 523, and 524 are transferable with the included vehicle mark.

Muffler and signal flare are depicted as one piece.
Train radio antenna, whistle and ventilator are already installed
