Until 2005, a soda electrolysis business using industrial salt was carried out at a factory in Shibukawa on the Joetsu Line, and rail freight was used to transport this industrial salt from Yokohama Honmoku Station.
For this purpose, salt was transported in FRP containers, and until 2003, the salt was loaded onto open-top cars such as Toki 25000, Tora 70000, and Tora 145000, and dedicated freight trains consisting of around 10 cars were operated.
Due to the aging of the open-top cars, they were replaced with open-top containers and freight cars from 2003 onwards, but the trains were discontinued when the business ended.
This product is a reproduction of an FRP salt transport container.
