[About the actual machine]
The main aircraft, the F-15J Eagle, is based on the U.S. Air Force's F-15C, which began combat deployment in 1974, and is equipped with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's own unique tactical electronic warfare system, J/TEWS, and an equally unique data link system.
The deployment of the unit began in 1982, and it continues to play a key role in Japan's air defense today.
At air shows held at bases that operate F-15Js, it is common to see aircraft with commemorative paint jobs built and displayed in exhibition flights.
The F-15J of the 303rd Squadron, which appeared at the Air Self-Defense Force Komatsu Air Base Air Show on October 5, 2025, was designed with the concept of 'From Eagle to Lightning II' in line with the start of deployment of the F-35.
The image of an F-35 painted on the fuselage of an F-15, as well as an illustration on the back of the aircraft combining lightning, a dragon, and the number 303, attracted a lot of attention.

[About the model]
-The model is based on the 1/72 scale Platz Air Self-Defense Force F-15J Eagle, which has already received high praise from airplane model fans, and is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the commemorative painted aircraft of the 303rd Squadron that appeared at the Komatsu Air Base Air Show held in October 2025.

- In line with the deployment of the cutting-edge F-35 Lightning II aircraft, the design is based on the concept of transitioning from Eagle to Lightning II, and features the Lightning II painted on the fuselage.
