──Tomix offers a variety of Kiha 10 series trains that have been active throughout the country.

[Actual vehicle guide]
The Kiha 10 series was a diesel car equipped with a hydraulic transmission, which enabled centralized control, making it possible to operate long trains, and became the foundation for later JNR diesel cars such as the Kiha 55 and 20.
Starting with the single-cab Kiha 17, which appeared in 1953, the following year saw the appearance of the Kiha 16, a single-cab car without a toilet, and the Kiha 18, an intermediate car without a cab. Initially, most of the cars were designed for long train formations, but from 1955 onwards, the Kiha 10, with both cabs but no toilet, and the Kiha 11, with both cabs and toilets, appeared.
They were used on non-electrified lines across the country along with their successors, the Kiha 20, 30 and 45 series, but with the introduction of the Kiha 40 series, they were gradually replaced, and by around 1981 all of them had been retired.

<7446・7447> Kiha 10 series
This model reproduces the Kiha 10 type that is not equipped with a toilet, and has a single-sided push-in ventilator just behind the driver's cab.

<7448> Kiha 11 type
Of the Kiha 11 type cars equipped with toilets, the ventilator just behind the driver's cab is a one-sided push-in type.

<7449> Kiha 16 type
Of the Kiha 16 type, the ventilator immediately behind the driver's cab is a one-sided push-in type, the handrail next to the crew door is divided into two, and the handrail next to the passenger door is a short group.

<7450・7451> Kiha 17 series
Of the Kiha 17 type, the ventilator immediately behind the driver's cab is a one-sided push-in type, and the handrails next to the crew door and passenger door are long groups.
