The Toei Mita Line has been run by the 6000 series since its opening in 1968, but the 6300 series was introduced in 1993 to replace the aging carriages manufactured earlier and to improve air conditioning rates.
It consists of a lightweight stainless steel body with no side beads combined with a semi-streamlined FRP front end.
The stripe color is blue, the Mita Line's line color, with red added as an accent.
It was also manufactured to standards that took into consideration direct operation with the Tokyu Meguro Line and the Subway Namboku Line, which were already under construction at the time.
Between 1993 and 1994, 13 first and second batches of 6-car trains were manufactured, and together with the air conditioning modifications to the 6000 series, 100% air conditioning was achieved in the summer.
In preparation for the start of the above-mentioned direct service in 1999, 24 third-generation 6-car trains were manufactured, completely replacing the 6000 series.
